Madrid_where-night-becomes-day

The Spanish capital is constantly on the move: the political and cultural centre of Spain is indeed more restless and livelier than the rest of the country. The vitality of the inhabitants (madrileños), their need to enjoy themselves, and the fact that this is a very sunny city, mean that life pours out onto the streets. Royal palaces in the classical style and wide avenidas characterise the city. Let yourself be wooed by its varied night life, enjoy the cafés, discos, cocktail bars and Flamenco tablaos. Spanish joie de vivre really is infectious!

Finding your way to and from the airport

Car:
The best way to the airport is via the N2 Madrid-Barcelona motorway and then the N100, which leads straight to the airport. To reach the N2 from the city centre, take the Avenida de América or the M30 or M40 motorways, which form the Madrid ring road.

Metro (Underground):

A metro line runs to the Nuevos Ministerios station in the heart of the financial and business district of Madrid. Metro line number 8 (from Barajas) connects the airport to the city centre via Mar de Cristal. The metro also offers connections to train stations on the Spanish national railway network (journey time 20 minutes).

Bus:
There is an airport bus every 15 minutes between the airport and the underground bus terminal at the Plaza de Colón (journey time 30 minutes).

Parking:
There are short and long-term car parks. The open-air P1 car park is directly in front of the terminal building. The P2 multi-storey car park has direct access to all terminals. For short-term parking there is an express car park next to Terminal 2.
